The Swindon charity have announced the appointment of Bobbi Pickard, CEO of charity Trans in the City, as its first-ever Patron. Bobbi, a pioneering advocate for transgender equality and inclusion, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to championing LGBTQ+ rights across the UK.
Chairperson of Swindon & Wiltshire Pride, Paul, expressed his excitement about this new partnership.
He said, “Bobbi has been an inspiring force in the fight for trans rights, and we are thrilled to welcome her as our inaugural Patron. We’re so proud to welcome Bobbi into our family and her leadership, passion, and commitment to inclusivity are values that echo our work here at Swindon & Wiltshire Pride in everything we do.”
Bobbi Pickard will play a vital role in supporting Swindon & Wiltshire Pride’s ongoing work to foster a more inclusive and supportive community, whilst highlighting the voices and visibility of transgender individuals within the region and work together to create lasting change.
Bobbi said, “I’m so honoured and happy to be announced as Swindon and Wiltshire Pride’s first patron- it’s a charity, and a group of people, I have so much love and respect for. The work they do for our community, especially the trans and non-binary community, is astounding and I look forward to helping them, however I can, in all their future activities.”
Swindon & Wiltshire Pride returns to GWR park on Saturday August 9th with a Pride March kicking off the day of celebrations. Free tickets will be available from June.
